Please don't flame me on this, I don't remember alot about the vw stuff. I have a vw 5 rib transmission and a 1970 1600 motor. I had another clutch and pressure plate from another motor but it won't fit, the bolt holes are further apart on the flywheel I have on the 1600 motor. |

Can you post photo's? The 5 rib uses a 200mm flywheel the same as all 12 volt bell housing car and bus trans up to that of the 6 rib which can use a 200mm or 210mm fly wheel. |

Well the cluthch and pressure plate I was trying to use was off of a 1500 I thought 69 but I have never ran the numbers. When I try to bolt that one up it is off by about 1/2 inch spacing on all the bolts. I just want to buy a stock one but want to make sure which one I need. I don't know if the flywheel on the motor is a stock or lightened one but I will see if I can figure out how to post a pic |

Are you sure it's not off of a 1200 motor as they are different and are 180mm in diameter. The 1300 thru 1600 all use the same 69mm crank and 200mm Clutch. |

I once had a 1500 '65 bus. It had the old 6 volt flywheel stuff. |

Well I went ahead and ordered me a brand new clutch and pressure plate for a 1970 1600 but it won't be in until Tuesday so I will see if that is the problem. |
