I have used the search funtion on here and have hgad no real luck. the problem is that i keep burning up coils. i kno i have the hot wire from the switch on the positive side and the dizzy wire on the negative side of the coil. i have a genarator that has a bracket welded on it to mount a one wire alternator and still turn the fan atached to the stock gen. so its puttin out 12 volts. do i need a regulator in between the switch and the coil or can you guys tell me how to wite it

sounds like you got it right make sure your running 12v coils.

The last one that went out was a twelve volt. How can i check the coil. i think its the coil becuase im not getting power to the dizzy.
