Started to clearance my case today, Ive got one side of it completed for the crank clearance and started on the other but my bits i was using arent cutting so well now so I quit for the day, I cant find my feeler gauges SO my clearance that i have given so far LOL is the thickness of one layer of cardboard from a cigarette pack folded in half. Wondering How much it really needs . I feel i have enough now, seeing how thats with the crank pushed tight to one end and then to the other.

Make sure that you use a cutting oil as magnesium and aluminum tend to clog carbide tools and abrasives.

yea, i just had a few old bits laying here i used they are pretty wore out already lol

Sounds like your using a double cut burr. They will clog up fast on mag or aluminum. Look for single cut burrs, they will not clog up. You need to be careful they are aggressive cutters and if your not careful they will get away from you.

Mr. Davehix is supposed to be mailing me a bit like he used to do his. I found those an figured Id try to atleast get a start. But How much clearance Do I really want to give it??

They are on the way. WEAR SAFTY GLASSES!!!! i would say at least 1/16 on clearance.

This is the easiest way to get that job done.

Clearanced case

I use a 6" wire zip tie to check clearances.
Slide it in between the moving parts, if it goes, it's good.

if its only a zip tie thickness i need then Im golden. Turboblue, I wish i could have dropped the money on that thing, believe me! Life would have been much easier that way, an I wouldnt be getting the evil eye every time i go out too the garage LOL I'll keep saving for it though!
