Post subject:  dual Carbs on a 1641 ?

looking into putting dual carbs on a 1641, i have a chance to purchase a set of Webers 44's just wondering if these will be too much carb for 1641 or what would i need to do for them to work well?
or just wondering if it would be worth the trouble?
you inputs are greatly appreciated!
thanks!

if the carbs are in good shape and the deal is sweet enough, then by all means get them.. i love my duals and think its the only way to go :D :D far as tuning goes, that greatly depends on what heads AND cam you are currently running. A set of weber 44s imo are a little much for a 1641 but you can always choke them down to perform the way you want them too

I've seen dual 40's on a 1641 with 042 heads and 110 cam and ran real good.don't know what his jetting was on them.so you might be able to adjust them down and do fine and then when you go bigger motor you've got the carbs.chad

well i think the deal i s sweet, but they do need to be rebuilt, so i can change the jets then. have know idea what kind of heads i have or cams. but i will find out. of course like i said i am new to this, so any markings on the heads, to tell what i have? also if this is a stock motor with 88 jugs. what would you suggest as for jets.
i am trying to learn, so if there is any good tech books or sites out there any help would be appreciated.
thanks
