Sending Empi back. Wanted to run filters off of it with the in and out port and leave doghouse cooler. What is the best tried and true setup on these? I see that Melling pumps are built in the USA. Will the Melling pump provide enough pressure for engine while feeding a external mounted cooler and dual filter assembly? Just not real familiar with these engines yet. Appreciate your help on this.

The Bugpack super pump is a good quality part. Get the block full flowed. It can be done with the engine together.I do not like the melling pumps, them being made of steel causes oil leaks due to different expansion rates of the two materials.

A Schadek 26mm pump with a full flow cover is a good combination.
Melling cast pumps will leak pressure as Aaron suggests.

I have run sevral melling pumps with out any problems with them leaking. They are the best oil pumps I've ever used. The only issue I have had with them is trying to pull one out of an assembled motor. I wouldnt run anything else.

They few I've tried to use were loose in the case.
As long as they are tight they will work.
