Was adjusting carve a few weeks ago and noticed the same dam thing. Just like a little wet belt in there. Passenger side quite as a mouse. Behind driver #3 that little squeel. Had to put ear up to it. Not very loud. I was told not to sweat it. Would like to know. My motor runs great. That kind of thing drives ne crazy

If I'm not mistaking creech said it could have something to do with the airflow around butterfly. Maybe he will chime in. I have hpmx empi 40s. How bout you ?

Im starting to dislike these carbs they are filling my intakes full of fuel when the buggy is just sitting there so i had to put a shut off valve on it. Im about ready to sell them and just go back to a single weber 44

spray some wd-40 down that carb while it running and see if it stops. its possible the gas has washed all the oil off the rings. As Ray said it could also be air squeeling past the butterfly if its not set just right.

Thanks aaron ill give it a try this weekend and see if it makes a difference it was never there before and isnt a steady squeel its loud then will go away for so long then squeel again if it was the rings i guess you think it would be a steady squeel i would think jmo but you guys know more then i do thanks again

could be a few different things

1. butterfly's
2. air bypass screw set wrong
3. exhaust leak
4. intake leak at either head or carb end
5. head leaking around cylinder

ive seen all of these at different times make a "sqealing" sound and most sort of came and went except the first to listed they were always a steady sqeal till corrected

Just guessing some more. Loose spark plug , wrist pin if you don't have teflon buttons, broke ring. Start with a compression check.Get a vacumm gauge and read up on how to read it. They were the scan tool back in the carb days. For ex. , the needle bouncing 1 number was a weak spark plug wire.It will tell you bad valve guide, wore out guide, broke ring etc.

those are the air bypass screws i refered to, they are used for balancing out each barrel individualy, a lot of folks say run them all way in some say 1/2 or 1 round out, but technically the book ive got says to run them all in, find the one flowing the most and back the other 3 out to match it, however, i usually have pretty good results with all 4 run all the way in :|
