Stumbled on some good heads and intakes(Dual port)
My current motor i pulled out of a beetle is a single port would it be worth the trouble to swap
The single was good for bout 36 horse right and the dual port was around 50?
or would i just be wasting my time
future plans for an ecotec or suby but the wife says i gotta build a house first

Rebuilt a 1600 s/p years ago for a Karman Ghia that had a 367:1 ring and pinion. That 57 hp motor had more torque than hp and would accelerate faaast ! I really hated to turn the car back over to the owner. It was a fun rocket.Had more pull and speed with the motor / trans combination than any Beetle(d/p with 388:1) that I ever messed with.I think s/p beetles ran 412:1 and 436:1 swingarm trans, not sure.Im actually rebuilding one while we speak and wouldn't you know it , a fat stud just pulled thru the block.Always install inserts! It already had a grooved super stud. Now I have to remove the head and jug and fix it. :? Hope it will work.
