My buggy only runnin on 2 cylinders. Firing are cylinders 2 & 3 Not running are 1 & 4 . When i first started it was only 1 not firing...???? switched plugs around didnt change anything. valves are good. switched plug wires around, no change. I cleaned the carb on that side just to be sure, no change. I did nothing on the opposite side then 4 fell off and isnt firing. This sucks. Distributor? Im running the electronic ignition, But if that went bad nothing would fire correct?

Check the distributor cap to see if there is any tracking between the terminals.

been fighting this all day...Finally got it running, But since i put these new 044's on it, Ive been fighting getting it tuned in right. SO, old heads are going back on with a fresh top end. It ran great the way it was, im sick of fighting with it lol. ugh.

I might be reading you post wrong but 1 and 4 are not on the same side...

I would go back to the basics and worry about one at a time..
Check for Spark, fuel and compression..

Was it running fine and then just started running bad or did it just sit all winter and you are just starting it?

MM, Ive had it out riding 3 times already this year. I had 041 heads on it that have had a lot of work done to them...I was able to get a set of 044's so I put them on along with 1.25 rockers. Since Ive done that swap, maybe 2 weeks ago.. I have found it impossible to get it too run as smoothly as Id like. And correct 1 and 4 are complete opposites of each other. lol I was thinking electrical problem because of that. Not sure exactly what fixed it as I threw every spare part i had at it, cleaned the carb on the #1 side, switched plugs around etc. and it solved the mystery  Compression was a yes, fuel.... check, spark ..check. So...Since it has caused all this headache, It is getting put right back to what ran great along with a new set of rings and I will forget i ever messed with something that had no problems to begin with. lol Thanks for the thoughts though.

I thought it was..lol  But what I was wrong. Its a sacrifice of running great on the bottom end, or the top. I either get a terrible stumble of the get go, or the top is just poo. I cant stand to have it off on either end . So Ill put it back, and use those heads on my 2276 build, Thinkin ima go with a holley on that one!!
