this weekend motor ran great all kinds of power and ect.. but later in the afternoon after a couple of beers started too take off all is fine and dandie till i noticed when i let off the gas pedal the motor would back fire through the exhuast... still ran great but is annoying as hell so now i need some pointers.. have new points in it, spark plugs,wires and coil ... timming should be at 30 dregs... i just checked it and readjust the points.. crarb is a progressive brand new... does carb need jetted??? or is the timming still altered a lil?? checked for vacuum leakes also nothing... dont see why it ran fine then started this b.s help |

Could be your getting a little air in around the intake some where.after you get it running spray a little starting fluid in around the gaskets and boots and see if it speeds your motor up if so it's sucking a little air in and not sealing tight.this is just one thing it could be. Chad |

nice call on the esssday on the exhaust .... thanks guys.... what happen was i was parked and chillin then some buggy rolled up and hit me me on the exhaust pipe and made 2 mirror dents in the pipe... i thought nothing of it... till i left and herd the back fireing... put the issue on here and u guys said exhuast leak??? thought well maybe then saw the flange was bent on the head and said no way... pulled the pipe and used bfh and strightend her up, put double exhuast gaskets on it started it up and low and behold nice and quiet again..... thanks again!!! who would havw though?? |
