Just do the guys you ride with a favor. If you do a down turn, add a little more to make it go out the side so they dont eat dust anytime behind you.

pretty sure mine was bug pack , makes em sound weird from the driver seat, but when you hit it !!! oh yeah  look back to your left and watch shit fly  it does suck for the person behind you tho, maybe thats why i always gotta ride in the back

I run the Bugpack Big Motor header, it is a very nice set and I got it for a pretty good price, I hate the U-bend headers, I used to run them and I will never run them again. I know that a lot of folks likes the u-bend headers to help keep water out of the motor, well there is plenty of beer cans laying around or even plenty from yourself to cut and make a cap to put over the straight header to keep the water out it. Some will say that the U-bend can handle a rollover better and will not bend the headers as bad as a straight one would, I have rolled my buggy several times and it plugged the headers plum full of dirt before, but never bent it. I would prefer to run stainless headers if I can find a set, I have been trying to buy Pipedope's for a while I can have a custom set made, but they want $500-$800 for a custom set made as per customer specs  I don't know if the U-bend will make less power than a straight set would, because a lot of the baja buggies always run a set of u-bends with a muffler and if the straight set will give them more power, they would run them IMO.... |

it does, the shorter the tip the more top end.Jeff Busby was trying to climb a hill in Fultondal .He had put a long stinger on his buggy and he tried and tried to make the hill then the tip blew off and it looked like he hit passing gear and away he went so I think your right from what I have seen RON wrote: not sure but ,

cut one of these in half and put on the bottom of a u bend to keep from dusting everybody out  it can turned to blow out the side or the back you just have to "adjust" the "angle" of the cut to make it "square" for which ever direction you chose to aim it its a bit rusty now but here is one of mine and yeah i know the welding sucks

Just wandering personally i like the look and sound of a "straight up" header better, but as for the u bend header, for me at least i guess is its just more of a "conveniance" thing, with a u bend and carb covers you dont have to worry about covering anything up at the car wash, or raining when it sits outside at a ride overnight or going down the road, also ive seen several "straight up" headers get full of dirt and rocks not to mention mangled all to hell in a rollover |

i know this may sound crazy but when i built mine like that there was another benefeit of it being turned down & out the back , that being you can actually hear the sound of the motor & valvetrain itself better kinda like a sewing machine sound until you nail it , then it sounds off by gosh !!

Longer collectors make more torque.shorter collectors make more hp.2387,  1-1/2 exuast if power band is between 2050-5150 rpm.1-5/8,2450-6100 rpm.2498cc 1-1/2 between 1950-4950rpm.1-5/8,2350-5850rpm,1-3/4 between 2750-6850rpm.smaller headers on power band more torque,larger diameter header more top end hp. You can adjust for where you are gonna be running and what kinda of power range your looking for.see alot of guys think bigger is better but in some cases especially with smaller engines you kill your power range this way. Chad yeah , i've had a few guys from ky. running 2500cc engines tell me they switched down to the 1-1/2 " to get more bottom end or torque i should say , some will port exhaust ports also , but some say no , to keep your torque , so what you said compares to what they do for torque or bottom end !!! |

i just got the 1 1/2 bugpack.ceramic coated..got mine with the u bend but planned on adding tip even before i got it...like the look of the u bend, they sound mean,and it will be tucked in my cage now,where the other one stuck out waiting to get broke off |
