which are the best ones, spring loaded or crush type, also there are different brands and types of each one so specific reomendations are greatly apprecciated?

Kybuggy turned me on to these when i bent a stock tube. They a awesome tubes...www.jayceevw.com/products work great and never leak a drop

I've ran a bunch of different tubes from stock to high dollar threaded aluminum ones,and I've found (for me) the bug pack presto tubes do just fine,and I prefer the seals to be from the cheap gasket sets the red ones,have to go look at brand just know by seeing the package.a lot complain about them leaking but I don't have that much problem,the few that did leak I streched the spring a liitle if it wouldn't stop after twisting them a little,and it a lot easier to change one out if this happens.but everybody should at least have two of these in there tool kit if they run the steal factory ones.never know when a big flop stick or something will make it's way up in there and bend or tear one out,and with the presto tubes you fix it with out pulling the head.Chad :mrgreen:

The Jay Cee tubes are very nice and have plenty of room for the pushrods when using hi ratio rockers. I have used several sets and never had one leak. Stock style tubes are great as well but not as easy to repair if one gets damaged.

I like the stock type windage or big ends windage . I use spring loaded scats or jay cee for repairs .

jay cee push rod tubes are all i have ran for the last five years or so , there a little pricey but well worth it , you can get them in about 10 different colors at c.b. performance & several other places !!
you can install your heads before you install the tubes , easier to start your torque sequence !! :wink:

c.b. part # 1517 is probably what your looking for ( they are red & blue ) , they also have red too !!!! 8)

I have JCs on my race engine. Most of the time I just us stock ones. Bugpack and Scat have a decent copy of the JCs. The Jcs have a larger opening so the pushrod won't hit the tube.

get the jaycee and be done $90.00 is the going rate.. those cheaper ones are probably OK but when you see the jaycees you will think yourself 8)

the first two are the same , the third one is a weaker knock-off of jay cee ( a wanna be ) , yhe reason c.b. is cheaper is they buy in bulk , if you go to moores or other vendors that sell c.b. parts they are higher than dealing directly with c.b. ( call marie ann at c.b. ) and get them there !! :wink:

i've used both , the red ones was actually the color of the original german gasket makers of yester year , i've got them at a local supply house before ???? , so they are still in circulation , as for which is better i do'nt really know , the red ones seem to have more density than the white ones !! :wink:
the white ones are in most gasket sets you purchase now at places like c.b. ,moores & veedub parts unlimited !!

so those wont work on a 1.25 rocker :twisted: :twisted:

yea they will work with 1.25 but no bigger. I had to take a screw driver and swedge the end on the head open a little so the push rod wouldnt rub it.

well i ordered some jaycee from cb performance that should be here monday but i'm wandering how many people use silicone around the seals, ive always used the windage stock type tubes before and no silicone and never had a leaking problem but the spring loaded ones i just took off this motor had silicone :?

so do i use silisone on the end seals or not????????

I never use sealant on my pushrod tubes I would say no.that would be my opinion
