The HP and torque all depends on the heads and cam combination, there is always more HP then torque in the VW A/C world, I would guess mine is around 200HP and 185 ft.lbs. torque?? I dunno, but it pulls my somewhat heavy buggy with me (285lbs.) in it very well with a 3.10 first gear lugging it very low rpm speed around in the woods and sometimes superlow rpm in 2nd gear (2.36), I would say that every bit of my buggy is in the 1500-1600 lbs range and then add me to it to make it almost 1900lbs. at the most guesstimate weight total
Anyhow, if I want a high-revving VW motor and still puts out very respected torque by my choice would be a 2332 with big heads and a good mid-high range cam (4500-8500 rpm) but the downfall would be is you will have to have a featherweight buggy for the motor to be able to lug it around very well because of the big heads and monster cam, that combo is known not to have hardly any bottom end torque at all. The dollar for dollar on the 2500 topped off with a set of 44idf's, a pretty mild set of heads (modded Street Eliminators) and a decent cam (w-110) tuned in properly does great IMO versus the 2332 with a set of 48ifd's, Superflow big valve heads with a monster cam (example----fk-87, fk-89) would be pretty close, but the 2500 may be a bit more $$$ depending on how wild you want to go. I have always had the rev limiter set on 7,000 rpm and was told it kicked in a couple of times and it is fast as hell, I put in a 6,000 rpm in it now since I changed the box just to see if I really need the extra 1,000 rpm, so far, I did'nt need it.
