Something to think about .
I been told that if your engine is 100hp on gas, you will have 85 hp on propane.
So plan on losing about 10hp on that 1600cc VW.

Yes it will make less power on propan. But if you build 13:1 motor and run it on propane it will make about the same as a 9:1 on gas or more. Without the off roading carb problems

In all honesty, you can make a pair of webers or dellortos run perfect with a little time, knowledge and patience. My weber 44's dont miss a lick. ever. on any terrain. between jetting, and other cheap little mods on them, you can make yours run that good too. You couldnt pay me to put fuel injection on my air cooled either. Keep that in mind before you spend a ton of money on propane. I'm not knocking it, I just dont believe in it.

I agree webers do fine if tuned right. The propane is just easy, cheap, and don't get your oil dirty like gas. I run both it just depends on the aplaction both has it's place.

AMEN Rockrockets,
After I rebuilt my propane carb CA125 I checked to see if the base would match up to my T1 DP intake and it bolts right up, I do have to waller out the T1 DP manifold to get it to match (more flow)... I ordered my off road exhaust the other day which will be modified for my t25 turbo... Thanks VWTravis I think I will post our PM conversation on here if you don't mind....
Jim
