I am in the beginning stages of building a new stroker motor and need some input on which block to purchase. I would like to build a 2332cc motor build have heard mixed feelings on using a aluminum block versus a new AS41 block and have it machined. Anyone have any input on this?

i would buy a alum. i have built a lot of engines the alum. block is stronger and a lot less work. they are a little heavy .the as41 is a good block but a lot more work to be as strong as a alum block .

I'd go for an aluminum one they come pre clearanced for 88 stroke and opened up for the cylinder bore of your choice, CB also offers custom deck heights so you don't need barrel spacers. Time will tell but they should be like the T-4 cases and not beat the center main bore and thrust.

I thought the whole point of dumping thousands of dollers into an AC motor was to have it light?

AS41 for me up to 86 stroke.
Those are die forged, aluminum cases are sand cast.
Have seen a few porosity issues with those.

I think the difference is closer to 15 lbs.

Anything bigger than 86 I use CB aluminum case so I can get the raised deck.
