i got a 1641 w/ engle 100 cam, just bought a weber 40 idf carb for it, installing tonite, but last time out i was having problems and stuck like chuck and drunk so i started messin with the distributor tryin to get it to crank better! think i was hydro locked cuz of the junk solex carb but anyhow, puttin new carb on it with a fuel pressure regulator. what should i set the regulator at? im thinkin 2 psi but would like some input. also at what degree should my timing be set at when i get all together and running, thanks in advance for any info and help! tryin to get this thing runnin for the hillclimb at harlan!!!!!!!!! see you all there

4psi Is what i think most run or i have in the past and 7.5 BTDC

Are you running a stock pump or electric? If stock you don't need a regulator.That carb only needs about 2-3 psi.Set the timing at 30 degrees at 3000 rpm.Run 93 octane gas.

Curious why you would run 93 Octane in a 1641 motor. Is the compression above 8.5:1? Regular gas actually burns hotter and will produce more power than a higher octane that is formulated for higher compression motors.

inside the fuel lid on a stock beetle says 92 octane min.

arron its an electric pump, i have an aj block, originally fuel injected. ray and erics my buds, i'll be comin to see you soon!so would 2 setting be fine?

put it right before 3 and you should be good to go
