Ok i have a 2180, vz-15 cam, weber 44, carbs ported heads, bugpack 4 into 1 header 1 5/8. Where i am confused is with the ignition.I have a msd 6AL digital, 8485 msd billet distributor and a blaster 2 coil. What i need to know. What plugs are the best to run with this set up. What is the best gap or a good place to start. The distributor has a timing curve that is changeable what would be the best one to go with. This is all on a off road buggy with a 6 rib i do a lot of hill climes and cursing the trails. Thanks for any help. scat crank 78.5mm cb rods 5.5 VZ-15 cam 1.1 rockers scat lifters pistons 94mm heads 39mm / 32mm ported 48cc combustion chambers deck height .050 compression 10.2 weber 044 carbs match ported main jet cant remember idle jet cant remember venturi size 36 msd 6al digital msd blaster 2 msd billet distributor cb dry sump system ![]()

Looks good. I have a Pertronics distributor, 76 possible curves. 3 sets of springs and 3 sets of limiting straps. I've been running medium springs and no straps. But could not adjust idle mix screws on Dells. The springs just were n't bringing down the advance. I just switched to 2 heavy springs ( today ) now it will kick down to a RPM that stalls it. Now I have to play around and reset everything. So when I bring that back, I think the idle mix screws will have an effect. I added this because different equipment but same symptoms maybe. My specs. 2276, scat c-25 cam, .053 deck hieght, 54cc chambers, appox. 9.5:1 compression, CB heads 40X35.5 single spring heads, 1.25:1 rockers, 5.6" rods, (big ass barrel spacers) and dual Dellorto 40's that I'm still playing with. I raced it this past week end even though it was n't set up right, kicked ass. So get it running and set ignition timing to 30* at 3,000 rpm and see if the advance drops off at idle.(which is where I'm back to), set or reset springs so it does. Then work on carb adjustments. Back and forth back and forth. Ehhh. BTW, my exaust is only 1.5" but have ceramic coat 1 5/8 CB header to install. Just waiting until I think my tuning is better as advised by the maintianance sheet that it came with. |
