Ok folks, surfed and searched a while and cant seem to find what im looking for. I have read and talked to people about running the Jetta TDI starters on my buggy but cant figure out exactly what i need. I called the local junk yard and the first question they asked me was Auto or Manual and i havent a clue which i need to search for. They said if its a manual its one thing if its auto its a larger group of interchanges. Help lol Im having a hard time cranking my motor over.... 1641 with 10.5:1 compression and a 3 rib currently running a 74 autostick starter and an Optima battery but it fights me starting every time, Your help is GREATLY appreciated folks and thanks for your time! |

these diesel automatic starters must have 9 teeth and ccw rotation,,fit 3 rib bell perfect. I made a template from an old car tranny starter mount to redrill the holes after plugging them with some threaded aluminum rod and jb weld. lots of starters will work but the 2.0 kw ebay starter is very powerful. here is a fresh link for reference to part numbers , etc. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ...
