i saw a guy in our part of the woods with a homemade turbo setup on a stock 1600 it was a drawthru setup and it ran real good and sounded good to he was running a weber progressive carb and a t3 /4 turbo .
the buggy did not work worth a crap though cause it was set up not so good like having 31 inch bfg all terrains and dumb stuff like that .

I might sound like a *ick but if you do not have time to read up on it, you do not have the time to run a turbo setup. Any **ckass can put a turbo or supercharger on a engine. Now getting it to perform and tune it to it's potential is a whole new ball game. Read up you will be more knowledgeable and more familiar about things in the long run.

No! Actually Bradley is exactly right! If you are not willing to get educated on Turbo applications then you should stay away from them unless of cource you just want to waste our time and your Money! The folks here are mo\re than willing to help those who are willing to help themselves. So if I also sound like a dick so be it!

A T3/T4 is way to large for a 1600. I would be surprised if it made much boost at all and if so did not spool up untill 3800 to 4500 RPM. I ran a T3 60 trim on my 2332 and now on my Subie 2500 and its just about right for offroading like we do.

Thats the problem I found when working on peoples turbo set up ,they think the bigger the turbo the better they are. One guy told me "My buddy runs a twin t/4 set up on his drag car and it is fast" I said "BUT it turns 8 grand " you don't want that in the woods unles you can think fast

what is the deal with some people on this site. I thought that the whole idea of asking a question was to get helpful info. If someone asks a question that you dont no a lot about then just dont answer it. Reading stuff like this just pisses me off. I asked a few questions about my motor that I was having problems with and several people said it was normal. Quess what, it locked up so it wasnt normal. I dont ask questions on here anymore because I have found that most of the answers are dumber than the question.

I'm pretty sure this in regards to my post... Well, he was giving info on what he asked about.. He in return said he dont have time to look at it. Which he has since edited that post which you can see..As far as getting dumb answers, if your willing to help yourself people will help you.

kevin I'm lost . He asked about a turbo set up on a stock vw . I don't know anyone that ever tried it ...Putting that much demand out of a stock anything wont last long . And a Turbo education is hard to give in just a few minutes .There are just too many variables

I suppose you are also directing this to me and I really don't give a Shit. And here is the DEAL! I have personally spent countless hours researching any and ALL applications I am considering on my own Buggy(s) and will even go out of my way to research for others. That Includes any and all links some one gives me on the subject to help me learn. Based on my own Impircal data I will then pass my knowledge to the next guy willing to spend some time to learn on his own and not expect someone else to do the research for him. Thats the way I percieved the responce of the original poster to the link offering. Bottom line is why is his time more Important than mine! My post count here is not because I want to here myself talk!
