Hey guys let me first say this site is so great. Next thing a guy in our group is making a manifold to put a holley carb on his buggy. i have had a problem with keeping the fuel bowls full in rough terrain,but this was on full size trucks years ago. any of you tried running holley's on vw's? thank to any one who any info.

bad idea they just do not work in a off road vw application

me a dave hix run them i like it he likes it key is to get a good carb we dont even have an offroad needle and seat in them and they act up a little but show me one carb that dont ever act up

Weber IDF 44's I used to run a 2-barrel and then went to 4-barrel, I never could get it to run right beside flooding out and switched to Webers and problem solved once and for all, I don't even have to mess with the idle jets either.

I put some Ford 1984 and down NON computerized carbs on some buggies a few years ago. I made an adapter to go from Ford 2 barrel to the dellorto single carb aluminum intake. It ran flawlessly at all angles.The best one was off a 302 C.I. v8, put on a 2110. My yellow buggy has one off a 351 V8 mounted on a 3.8 Buick and is perfect. I tried the smaller one on an 1835 and it had rich black smoke so I would not recommend it under 2100cc's. Behind the accellerator pump push rod is a number. 1.08, 1.14, 1.21 etc. The 121 is noticeabbly bigger than the dellorto while the 108 is smaller. They have a slightly softer take off than a Dellorto but that COULD be a good thing to extend the life of bearrings, clutches, dowel pins, transmissions, cv's, white axles etc.You get the same spray or better but its a slightly slower spray.I even made and sold a few on Ebay. But don't have time like I used to. I'm into making killer A- arms now.

Hello again guys hope everyone out there had a fun and safe memorial day week end.The group i ride with had great weather and that made for fast trails. So the guys that were playing with the holley carb on their buggys had them on and tuned very well.They made more power than they expected.So if anybody wants to try this set up let me know and i will get the carb number and he may even build you the intake for a reasonable fee.

I sure didnt hear that little engine miss a beat with that 500 holley when i rode with you Dave
