Bolted tires is like putting tracks on a skid steer loader,Claws on a cat,Like putting it in 4 wheel drive Back 25 years ago A friend of mine was working in Ohio and stopped off at Cromer Ridge KY with a set of Buckshot Bolted 'P' hadn't no body ever seen anything like his whole buggy .It had 3x3 ,930 ,bolted tires ,Built 091, 2276 When every one else there was in swing axel buggys funny how things change |

There not as aggressive as a cut bogger , alot shorter lugs. But they are soft and lighter than a bogger so i'm hoping they'll do pretty good with the studs . And i've still got some cutting to do ,but the pics don't do them justice I'll get some better one's up soon.. |

I was wondering who dug all the ruts in there. All the guys that were there said they thought he worked for the pipe line company.

Don't Know yet first ride tomorrow with the chaindrive another than around the field here at home. I think it'll climb great as long as the chaindrive setup will hold up and if the sprocket ratio is right ,we'll see. |

Wow bolted tires look insane. What are those rims? Are they aluminum drag rims by any chance? My old mans got some that look just like that on the back of his hemi street rod. Those rims are some heavy sob for being aluminum. |

I used a 1/2 inch carriage bolt with a 5/8 washer on the inside ,and 1/2 inch washers and nuts on the outside then welded the top. the trick is to drill a small hole in the tire then go on the inside with a drill and tool to hold the bolt and drive it threw with a little lube and alot of elbow grease. then put them on the wheel with some slime and your good to go. The wheels are aluminum with home made beadlocks,i got from summit racing, can't remember the brand. Thanks nittro, I'm finally pleased with it and the way its hooking up, it's about time lol.. |

Some times a little tweeking is needed, looks good and seems pretty balanced now. I'm sure it made Clayton happy

You should really only do it with an auto tranny, cause it has some slippage and it can have insane bite without hurting anything. With a 6 rib, 3 rib, whaetever you run if it's a manual, it has no slip, so your tires need to be able to spin a little bit to help prevent breaking joints, diffs, ring and pinions, etc. So pretty much, only do it if you run an auto. It can be done with a standrard trans, but it's risky.... and you WILL break stuff. Just my $.02.  -Dakotah/koko |
