 Post subject: how wide ?

im lookin to get some stock vw wheels for the front of my buggy, do i need the 4 inch wide ones? ive got 3 rib tractor tires on the front

The wider the wheel is in relation to the tire, the more chance of bending the wheel. The side wall of the tire helps to protect the wheel some. The same goes for how tall the tire is, the further away from the ground the wheel is the less damage it will recieve. I put a set of 6.90X15 on the front of mine this year, haven't bent a wheel all year. With the 5.00X15, I was bending a wheel once a ride.

I agree with Mike. The 4" width is preferable & a tall sidewall if you can get it.
