instigators rims & adaptors. The rims were 14 and I cut them down to 12s put some tubes in them and they ride just fine. width now is 82" and the tire high went from 32 to 31.. I'm going to have to get used to the new width.

What is the off set? I’ve never seen so much of the rotor. Will the wheels or adaptor handle that much leverage having so little offset?
I’m not saying anything bad about it, just curious.

instigator said he don't have any problems with them, but I also cut 2" off the rims to fit tires. Time will tell.

That is a lot of leaverage on your stub axel bearings, and pivot bushings and will ware quickly. If you ride in rocky areas,exposing the brake system like that greatly increases the damage factor. Wider trailing arms would have been a much better solution and cheaper in the long run. Please do not take my comments personally. I am only sharing my thoughts.

Why cut the rims down? Now there's a smaller portion of the tire on the ground at once, which is the key to having good traction. And I don't know about them adapters or stub axles lasting very long at all... Just wondering, what advantage did it give ya making it real wide like that?

what size tires are those,they don't look like a 31x15.50x15.if you went from a 14" width to a 12" width how did it lay your tire down and make it less height.looks like it would have made it taller by making the rim narrower.i use to run a complete offset rim (steel)with uncut 31x15.50x15 tires and it did wear on the bearings.seemed like i changed them couple times a summer and then it finally egg shaped the outer side of my swing arm,but that was a lot more weight than what you are running.your just running 3" more a side further out than what alot of these guys are.make sure you torque them right and always keep a good check on them just to be safe.besides if you do tear a caliper off at least you don't have to take the wheel off to change it.chad

I didn't have any 15' wide tires. the tires are 12.5 x15 and I was running them with 10" rims they were just a hair over 32" tall and hitting the IRS bad. If I can find some 12 x 15 " 5 wide vw rims with the correct offset I might get them or just those out and move them in some. the main purpose was to get the tires away from the IRS, because the faster I went the taller the tire got and rubbed into the IRS. Thats for all the input. oh I need to find some bigger lug nuts I have to tighten them already.

I bought some bus studs and nuts. took back that cheat japan stuff they kept working loose.
going to take some spare tire & rims next saturday for windrock just in case
