That's what being a engineer does. :shock: makes you build bad ass stuff that is hard to work on hahaha. 8) :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

dang oddy, that is a bunch of stuff crammed in a small area :shock: , I still think in the end results you would be happier changing the gears and keeping the taller/longer lasting tires though

Well, you may be right however, as it turns out according to the on line Weddle gear calculator the difference between a 3:44 and a 3:75 1st gear is very close to the difference between a 31" and a 33" tire. The difference at 2000 RPM is .1 MPH. It will also give me a little more wheel speed in 2nd as the highest ratio I can get for the later model Vanagon trans is 2:36. So my solution was to buy a pair of 31" Boggers in lieu of the gears. I will only be losing 1" or so of ground clearence so I will still have 15". Now let the cuttin begin! Now if I can just find some one close to me in Ohio to cut them! :wink:
