I have a 2 seater buggy with a 1641, single solex carb, bus torsion rear, with a 3 rib trans. I do a lot of trail riding and some hill climbs. What is a god size tire to run? My 1641 pulls good, but I dont want to kill it with to much tire and weight. I think 31 x 15.50 v-treads would be to much so heres the tires I'm looking at right now. All tires will be cut, either TN style cut, or the boggers paddle cut

Super Swamper TSL SX in 30x11.50

Boggers in either 31 x 12.50, 33 x 10.50, or 35 x 10.50 or 14.50

Original TSL in Q78X15C which is a 35" tire

Buckshots in 33 x 12.50

I worry about the bigger sizes being to much for my lil engine. Remember I'll be cutting all the tires because lack of traction bugs the hell out of me. Thanks for your opinions guys, and any suggestions will be listened to as well. Like I said I'm afraid v-treads in 15.50 would be to much for the motor to spin.

i ran the 31x15x15 v treads with about the exact same set up and it did great...even with them uncut and on heavy steel rims....ran terras before that....whatever you run will be rougher on cvs so be prepared for that....other than that you should be fine!

The width of the tire isn't so much of an issue as the height. A set of 35's will hurt more than the 15.50 width. I would suggest a 31 or 33 bogger. Your not going to be with a 1641 for very long, you will want a bigger hammer, everyone does. Go with a slightly larger tire and build to it, the tire will last longer than the 1641. Also an aluminum wheel helps with rotating mass, helps things live longer.

Yeah I knew the taller tire added weight and hurt the gear ratio too. Ill be building a bigger hammer soon enough, but Im on a tight budget so I gotta run what I can for now. I wouldnt mind doing a very wide, cut 31 bogger as long as the motor will pull them good

1641 3 rib will run the v treads just fine.and if you cut them and go to a aluminum bead lock it will even be better.ran this combo for ever with no issues. Chad

I ran 29 X 12.50 tractor V tread for ten years with a stock motor and 3 rib and was able to do anyting you can expect a stock motor to do. They would be a bit small for a bigger motor though.

I can't use the rims but if you can email me some pics or text them to me at 850-776-8205 or spots.duncan@gmail.com I'd be interested in just those.

Anyone used these? They seem like they would work pretty good, and they are cheap for v-treads

http://www.titantirestore.com/tru-power-tires.html

$273 for a 31 x 15.50 x 15
