 Post subject: Tie rod ends - IH vs VW

Looking to switch my ends from VW to IH. I need the difference in lengthsto order the new rods. Anyone got this info?

Sorry, don't know the size difference. I'd saye your only going to gain 3/8" per end. Just a guess though. I had them on my white car and they're defenintly beefier.

The only ream I could find was from Snap on. In the end I used tapered (by hand)bushings so I could bolt in 3/4" hiem joints and as a back up, knock out the bushings to use the HI or Ford tie rod ends, which appear to probably bind up at full extension or compression. 12" wheel travel cocked over one side to the other.(before tie rod hits frame top to bottom). 2.5"X1" arms and center mount rack. Tie rod ends work fine at steering box. Also with a 6" wider beam my rods are about 23" each.
