All I can tell you is the Harbor Freight one will last Maybe long enough to do one frame, if your lucky. Same as anything else, you get what you pay for. I use a lathe to notch my tube, works every time. |

mike, maybe I'm just tired and not thinking right, but how do you notch the tube with a lathe? I could see using a mill and the correct size holesaw working nicely, but I'm not sure how to do it on a lathe? I'm probably overthinking it. |

Chuck up a 1 1/2" end mill in the chuck, I made a V-block that goes where the tool holder lives. Set the compound to the angle you want and have at it. |

like he said earlier harbor freight is junk but in this case i think their notcher is worth the 50 bucks. iv rebuilt my frame almost entirely twice now and it's still holding up. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=42324 I built a small stand for mine and use a hand drill instead of a drill press. |

I recently bought a notcher from a local tool jober that looks like the Harbour frieght model. First thing I had to do was shim the vise 1/8" to line it up with the hole saw center. and correct the 90* base plate to 90*. It may be Chinese, but it does work pretty sweet. |

Plasma cutter works pretty good in combo with my 1" burr in the die grinder. |
