I got my engine back today but my lower case stubs are too short to pass through the bell housing since I changed my transmission to a 6 rib. I have checked every store around my house and no one sells 10mm threaded stubs or even threaded rod. I found some that I can order but I was looking for something quicker and wondering what other people have done..

If you know the length and thread size you'll find them here.

Find a bolt long enough and cut the head off then use a nut to clean the threads where u cut the the head off before u install it.

Got to love Pull A Part.. Fortunately, there is a Vanagon sitting in a local Pull A Part and I knew that the tranny was already removed. It only took a few minutes to grab the bottom stubs from the engine and I was all set. Came home and installed the engine.
