now thats funny, last monday, we were trying to get a diesel utility van started, it kept ripping the starter off the block. the holes were stripped, so we were talking about putting a pulley on the front and getting a tow strap and getting everybody to yank on it like an old lawn mower. Now this would be a better way to start the old diesel, you only need one person, we will have to try it. dave |

Like a weed wacker setup (the newer ones). Then he'll adapt it to his buggy. |

actually i was thinking about making one out of carbon fiber, that way when it catches and whips around, comes off and imbeds itself into ya, you would still beable to go through the airport security without the alarms going off. dave |

I'll volunteer to tow it there. |

If you have to put this much time and effort into making this hand crank set-up, then maybe you should just leave the thing at the bottom of the hill! I would like to think your time is worth at least a little money, enough to buy a battery or fix the reason you battery is always dead. |

I was riding shot gun with a buddy one day and we stopped for a brake. He sut his buggy down. When ready to go again it didn't have enough battery to start. No hill to coast start sooooo, he took a socket and ratchet and started it by cranking the generator nut. Buggy started , ratchet went 100 mph as he pulled it off the nut. Gonzo |
