Hey Everyone,
Im getting ready to make some lower motor mounts for my Subaru. I was wanting to come off the bottom of the rear removable cage. I have upper and lower tranny mounts but i wanna go with the overkill and not chance it.. I know ive seen it done before. I was wondering if someone could take some detailed pics for me of there setup.. Also what are you using for the actual mount.
Thanks
Nick

As of now I'm not running them, haven't for the last 3 years. Not saying you don't need them, just saying it hasen't become an issue yet. When I go dry sump I'll add them in then.

All Subaru motors are wet sump. Large oil pan that the oil pump in the motor pulls oil from to lube the engine.
Dry sump is a small oil pan, almost no oil pan at all, with an external sump tank, and an external oil pump.
The dry sump pump is made in stages, suction or scavenge sections and a pressure section.
Since we deal in such extreme angles, keeping the oil pump pick up in the oil can be a problem.
Dry sump insures oil pressure at almost any angle, most you wouldn't want to be at anyway.
Kinda involved system and it's expencive, a new 3 stage pump, cheapest I can find is $650.

$650  I kinda thought it was something like that. Just wasnt sure.. Sounds like a good concept just overkill i would think. How long are we really at extreme angles..

I've had my oil light on going down hill enough to make me know I'm gonna do it. Ya I know your thinking down hill just turn it off, no motor = no power steering , I really like my power steering.
This would be a good topic in Water Cooled

I did it to oct botm. It is air cooled though :? but I have 8 qts in the system instead of the 3 plus from stock form. an i can climb trees much better now  When you get into dry sump oiling you are getting pretty much out of the main stream and thing get pretty obscure,I.E. hard to find info on and limited suppliers. But thanks to woods buggy contributers things get done.

I have my ej22 hanging like a VW but the eg33 being about a hundred pounds heavier and a cylinder longer I figured I would fab some up and hang it off the rail tubing,,not the skid tubing..but I have not got that far yet...I am watching this topic close myself.

I have a pair however I have not decided if I will be using them or not. All depends on how the dry Sump oil pan mounts look. I will know in the next week.

Here is the mounts. They are hard to see cause of the mud. I used the suby plate like Bills but there is two 1/4 plates to mount it. Sorry not the best pic.
