Looks like a winner to me. Where did you get the brackets? A & A Mfg?
I wouldn't gussett it. The caliper was designed for one direction of force which is rotational. Any lateral movement will break the calipers ears off if gussetted. I would rather bend the mounting tab than wreck the caliper should somthing go wrong.

Looks like bleeders at top and bottom,,makes bleeding better I guess. Be careful backing up , I had a buddy roll backward into a tree and wrecked his caliper.

well I took all yall's advice and kinda put it all together and this is what I did .
Do yall see any problems with what I came up with ? The brackets are 1/4 and I have lock nuts on the back side. ImageImage

Aboone,Weres your cross over tubes on the calipers? They need a tube from 1 half to the other half at the bottom of the calliper and the bleeders point up

The crossovers are built into the caliper. They can be installed on both sides that's the reason for two bleeders.

Hey hillaholic, what is the deal with the stub axle? Is that some kinda spacer?

Really use something thicker than .250 if you can. The arms I just replaced had .250 brackets welded with nuts but the calipers were the wide bolt pattern and both brackets were cracked above the weld. I would rather have over kill on the brake brackets. Going from .250 up to .500 on a small bracket can’t be that much more weight. When I put on my new arms I didn't have any .500 other than 4140(Extremely hard to drill tap and weld with my equipment) so I went with .395 that I had and tapped it with fine thread 3/8" I haven't tested it yet but it should hold up.

Yes, It had 3x3's with type4 cv's and 18-3/4" axles with two 1/4" spacers to make it like running 19-1'4" axles. I only ran it 1-1/2 seasons with them but never had a problem. Cheaper than buying longer axles I guess, my buggy came with them on it.

what did you use to cut the bracket. i made some brackets today. (see my other post in the brakes section) and mine turned out OK, but i had to cut them out of the stock with a sawzall. (dont laugh at me) and then use a grinder to slick them up and what not...
i could have never made the rounded curve part like what you've got on the top and bottom there,
so. how'd u do it?

I believe the brackets are punch press stamped and can be bought thru http://aa-mfg.com. They make many different styles of tabs and brackets for race and offroad cars. They are also very Inexpensive considering what it takes to make them with a Sawsall! From aboones post he got those thru Appletree.
Update: In looking at aa offering they only have them for 3 1/2" centers and mount on a 3" tube.
