Hello All, I"m just about ready to start on my new buggy , Its going to be an A-Arm airbag suspinsion . I have always ran the kp vw beam before so this is something new to me. My question is the spindle setup, what would be the best and most affordable way to go . I was thinking ProAm spindles but would rod ends give me enough turning radius for tight trail riding . Any ideas from you master fabricaters out there would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks..... |

Ya, I seen that thing it is bad , I talked to curts dad at his hill climb he is really a great guy. I cheked out his two seater , thats what made me decide to go with air bags and a-arm suspension in front . I had already planed baging the rear, but after seeing that setup I just had to try it. I think I figured out the spindle setup , what about the the a-arms what size and thickness of pipe should i use , thinking 1.25 120 wall will that be strong enough ? Again thanks for any advise.. |

I want to keep it light as possible not too big of tire maybe a skinny 33 or 35 of somekind up front.The buggy should weigh around 2000lbs, I will be running a mid-engine 4.3 v6 with propane , thinking of running a 35+16 bogger, bolted in back.I Want to keep it small enough to get around these tight trails around here.. |

I used 1.5" .120 dom for the lower arm, and 1.5 .095 wall for the upper arm. One thing to keep in mind, you want something to act like a fuse, so if you do hit something, you won't destroy the car. an arm is alot easier to replace than the frame when you bend it  Also, we used those pro-am spindles on the a-arm car that we are building, and they seem to be stout!
