Upgrading my buggy to 3x4 trailing arms with air bags, came up with the idea to use a ball joint from a F 250 4x4, to allow for movement in both directions when the arm goes through it's travel. Do you guys think this will hold up pretty good?

Adding an additional degree of freedom
(the ball joint) is probably not needed
since the compliant air bag will conform
to any shape through it's range of motion.
Also, the turnbuckle that you are using
for stabilizing the drive train is not correct.
A turnbuckle like that is better used in
tension only...and never in compression.
A solid structural strut is needed in that
area in order to fully constrain the
cantilevered drive train.

The second picture shows the turnbuckle mistake has been corrected. I don't know why the previous owner used those, makes no sense.

Setup looks great, how much angle do you have on those axles ? Any back angle?

I will have to check the angles, I was just test fitting in the pictures, the arms are Begley 3X4 with 930 CV joints, I am sure I am going to have some back angle with those arms. I haven't got that far yet, I need to get it done and get some limit straps on there.

It looks like it would work good to me the only problem I see with it is if the balljoint ain't dead center the bag it could bulge the bag out to one side or the other. I had this problem with the fabricated pivots I made. They were very close to center but just a little bit and it won't work. Good luck I'm curious to see how this works for you!!!
