ok this winter im rebuilding my ball joint front end its off a beetle the beam is in excellent shape or else i would just buy a new one i tore my junk front end apart beings this is the first time ive been inside one it looks simple my question is what kind of rebuild kits are you guys using and where and how much are they running because while im doing this i am making a set of drop spindles i have them cut and shaped already just have to drill holes for the spindle locations how do the balljoints come out of the arms are there clips holding them in i cant tell by looking at mine from the years of dirt and paint that has been slapped on the set i have now ive cleaned them but dont see anything holding them in any input would be nice so i dont destroy something in the process thanks

Balljoints are a press fit. And unless you have the tooling th ball joints are a pain in the dick to change. Trust me

I've used heat to get them out . makes it easier and a good press to push them out and back in. you can get balljoints at you local buggy shop. make sure you put them back in right.
