Didn't Dean Marks have a modified manx type body over top of one of his woodsbuggy's? I remember seeing a pic, anyone remember? I thought it looked cool...

just picked up a 4 banger rabbit for 800 and drove it home... now to start the Frankenstein process. I got the contact info for the VW guy in Anniston if anyone needs parts for thier buggy. he's got a lot of stuff hanging around behind his shop.

okay after much deliberation I think I am going to build the buggy with a mopar 318 (mostly because its free) and leave the Rabbit alone... I like the fuel mileage that it gets. Any one know where I can get the Dodge adapter plate for this thing for a little cheaper than Kennedy? if I gots to buy one then I just gots to buy one I just wanted to make sure its the least expensive one I can get.. orders from the wife! I'll start posting pics of the build when it gets into full swing.

dont do it..you will regret it..its goin to suck plan and simple, unless you put money into the 318 and big money in a trans....use the rabbit motor then you can use stock 091...i think it is passat2800 that has the bells for 091 to rabbit engine

I think I will be sastisfied with it.. there are things I can do to the heads and crank to get around 400hp out of it without blowing a TON of money.. and its free.. did I mention that? ANY who .. I still gots to scrape together enough money for the adapter plate so this build will have to wait.. I hate waiting :x

After much deliberation and analysing what I want to do with the buggy I think I will be mounting the engine in the front of the buggy. I also need A arms for all 4 corners... and some lessons on how to work with fiberglass.. I got the beer if you got the time!

not trying to be rude. is this going to be a street car? if you build a V8 front eng buggy for the woods you will be outclimbed by a tired 1500 vw engined buggy.

Yeah is probably going to spend the majority of it's life on the street with the occasional run out into the un paved wilderness. I know it's not gonna set any records for hill climbing, but it will more than likely hurt some corvette's feelings.

360 heads and piston rods, mild cam, and modest carb. and a little bit of machine shop milling and it will put out somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 hp. gear it right and I am pretty sure it will perform the way I want it.

Here you go, swap V6 for V8 and you'll do more than scare corvettes:

(And you won't get hammered by a 1500 VW on a hill either)
