I broke a spindle out west on a recent trip with a different buggy and decided the new car was getting an upgrade.

That is too nice and professional. You must live and work up in the car country.

Thank you, and yes I live right in the middle of car country and work on fire alarms. Completing the wire harness is about the only thing I could use work experience on, the rest I made up as I went along.

I am thinking I should take it through the thickest trails right away and give it the "broke in" look so I don't piss and moan about every scratch. I just need to remind myself that it is a buggy.

The front shocks were a little soft. I had 8" 250lb on the bottom and 8" 200lb on the top. After talking to Fox I changed the lower to 10" 300lb and left the top at 8" 200lb.

Mostly done, taking it out for a test weekend before I get it powder coated.

I had the buggy on the dyno today. We ran the test from 50 to 90 mph in 3rd gear on our fifth pull. I hit 93 mph in third and still had 1000 more rpm's before I hit the rev limiter. I finished off with 191 ft-lbs of torque and 193 hp at the wheel. We figured a realistic estimate for the engine was somewhere around 250 to 260 hp at the engine. To be honest it was scary as hell sitting in the driver seat having the rear wheels going 93 mph. I kind of wanted to see how fast it would go but I do want to take it North next weekend, not fix stuff I broke on the dyno.

Thats impressive, and I've heard the the Mustang dyno's are on the conservative side too. Not sure what's all in it but looks like a S/C Ecotec is great bang for the buck! I want one now lol

It is a supercharged 2.4 Ecotec. To be honest I should have gone with a turbo and ran lower boost. It would have been less water plumbing, less intake plumbing, no water pump, the exhaust would have been easier to build and I would have had more room in the end. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to death with the outcome and I definitely love the torque.
