I picked up a buggy at the end of last summer that was about 75% done. Some of you might remember the buggy it was nickschlemer's . It was a venture frame and I wanted to go with a stalker. So I tore it apart and sold off the parts I wanted to change and ordered up a stalker frame with a +6 roof. I now have most of my parts rounded up and am going to start building it.

I decided to try the RJES bellhousing adapter with the pull to release clutch and the subaru input shaft. This will allow me to run a turbo subaru clutch. The odd thing about the subaru turbo clutch is that it is a pull to release instead of a push to release clutch. By using their input shaft I also get to run the subaru clutch disk. The 6 rib tranny was built by Don's bus box and has all weddle gears and chromoly diff in it.

I'm running Eagle performance long travel beam with 2 1/4" longer trailing arms and 10" fox coil-overs. I have combo spindles with pro-am front brakes. On the rear i'm running a custom torsion with eagle performance coil-over conversion and 4x5 arms. The rear will have 18" fox coil-overs and gear one brakes.

The steering will be taken care of by a Saco rack with Howe power steering setup.

The wheels and tires are Keizer 15xx6 with goodyear 7.60 on the front and 15X10 with 33/12.50 boggers on the rear. Those will be mounted using Instigators adapters.

Scott, you are a truly sick and twisted man to wich I would suggest seeking professional help. Having said that, where does the line start for the rides your going to be giving? And will it be done in time for Wellsville?
Looking sharp 8)

Thanks for all the positive comments! It's thanks to all the bad a** rides on here that made me want to build something more then what I had. And to answer madmike, the doctor told me there was no helping me! And I do hope to have to done for wellsville.

Hey Scott

One thing that makes those Stalker chassis a little easier to get the whole cage off and the engine in is to put a couple flanges right at the red lines in this picture.

You have to use a chain hoist to lower it in Tony?
We flange those tubes so you can remove more of the cage and roll it in with a floor jack.

It is a DOHC 2.5

I've been out of town working so I haven't gotten anything done but I did get my clutch kit in. It is a stage 3 F1 clutch kit with a 6 puck disk. Its rated at 390 hp and 385 tq and the flywheel weighs 12 pounds (the stock one weighs 21 pounds). The pull to release pressure plate looks a lot different.

Post subject:  Re: New Stalker frame with turbo suby power

Finally got some time home to work on the buggy. I got the engine and tranny mocked up and ready to weld in the mounts. I got the drive axles in and the gas tank modified. Started out with a 15 gallon fuel cell and reworked it a little. Thanks to Randy (rail1914) for welding up the tank for me, I still haven't setup my tig welder.
