Well, I haven't got as much done as I would like to have. I've been working on my golf cart project, and prepairing to move my shop. Jim and I are moving into a bigger shop. My 2 car garage just isn't big enough for both of us.

I did get mu wheel back from shot blast. I got the rear one painted, still have to prime and paint the fromts. Got the new tire on the rears too.

I also got the seats mounted, the engine in, the pedals mounted, the s-10 steering box mounted and working, and the wifes foot rest. I mocked up a console/dash too. Not sure I like it yet.

I have 14" of ground clearance at the lowest point of the trans mount.

Got a little more done tonight. The consol is together, just have to take it apart sand and paint it, and install switches and gages.

I also got a couple body panels cut and fitted.

Hopefully I get more done tomorrow.

Ok, I have a spot on the front of the buggy that is going to be nearly impossible to make a panel for (and make look good) So here's what I have came up with. Tell me what you think. there tacked in right now so I can still remove them.

You could get thin aluminum to curve like that. Id make a cardboard template & tape it on to see if it works then do it in aluminum. The bars remind me of freight rollers at a dock.

Heavy? thats probably like 7 pounds for both sides.. i agree that the pass. side looks odd but the drivers looks ok..
is weight that big of a deal that people skimp on bracing? on the buggy im building weight is my last concern.. safety and strength are the top 2 but im all new to this... jmo...

also i dont no if you plan to run the middle body panel on the race brace the way it is but when i put my body on i'm planning to put a hinge about in the middle so it will flip up for access to pedals and whatever else gets put up there..

Weight is a HP killer, but a lack of bracing may be a You killer,,,find a happy medium,,,excess weight makes your buggy less effective. A good trail rider buggy will still benefit from less weight , like when you find a tough spot in a trail,,,and what good trail don't have a tough spot?

OK, I have finally got moved into my new shop. I haven't been able to do much on the buggy lately. But I did, buy bigscott's (thanks bigscott) front buckshots. I have one mounted on a wheel with my new beadlocks. I should get a lot done this weekend, I post picks next week.
