That got removed once the seat was located. I only needed it for mock up. Kirkey instructions say not to mount the headrest solid to allow for impact. You aint kidding about that going through your skull if it was there though.

I think you negated the weight benifits of a single seater but man it looks awesome and safe. Keep up the good work.

It all started when my Mustang had to go pror to the divorce being filed.... :D :mrgreen:

She was going to give it to her new boyfriend. :shock: :cry:
For some reason she got a bit angry about it going to my buddy (to cover some debt) that she ran up.
Thing is, she gave the buggys away after the divorce got filed....That is a violation of the marital assets part of the divorce :roll:
The judge ordered her to get them back. We will see if she gets em back or deals with the contempt charge. The judge was pissed :evil: :evil:

Im in the strange situation of wanting my rail to have a certain "LOOK" that Im after. Kind of like a Cal-Look for rails. I wanted double hoops front & rear after seeing plumberbills collapse & I got it done. I tried to keep track of what I added weightwise & its roughly 70 pounds. Once I put the tonneau on the roof all that will be hidden & from the side Ill have the profile I want so bad.

I may end up tossing my 1915 in there as well as a fuel cell instead of my Pinto motor & the propane setup. I cant find a spot to mount the tank low in the chassis. If I put it high in the rear it defeats my low center of gravity I strived for. I dont want 70 pounds of propane behind my head & thats the only place it fits. I think Ill put that on the 4 seater instead.

BTW purplerail....That clown my ex was bangin was # 22 on the list of ones I know about. Hence, I finally decided enough is enough. Dont ask me why I tolerated that crap for so long. I dont have a good answer other than as long as I got some a couple times a week I didnt care. I finally decided my sanity needed a good woman in my life. I think I found her....

I love jumping so I figure these are going to take a beating. Now I need to get some 1 1/2" DOM .250 wall & get it drilled & tapped for these. I still need to make a pattern so Russ can cut me some springplates. Ive got quite a few things I need cut. I need to find out if his frame needs picked up as well.

I filled the gap on my lowered floor with 1/16" perforated steel. I also cut & fit the floor.

I cut the aluminum with cutoff wheels on my angle grinder. Its pretty straight but not perfect. Any suggestions for cleaning up the edge?? I tried my high speed sander but clogged the disc instantly.
I am considering buying a metal blade for my circular saw & running that to clean it up.

I used a wood blade with my jig saw and it cuts much easer than a cut off wheel or a circular saw with the blade backwards. Don’t use a metal cutting blade with the jig saw it takes forever to cut and the blade loads up. Also I clamped a straight edge to the aluminum so it would have a guide for a straight cut. After that I just used an orbital sander to get rid of the sharp edges.

This picture I used a metal blade with cutting oil. It worked but took forever. The last time I cut it was with a wood blade that wasn’t to aggressive and no oil. It took half the time and effort.

Youre not kidding about time. It took nearly 2 hours & four 4" cut off wheels to make the cuts. I tried my Sawzall with a metal blade but it jiggled me numb. I forgot about my jig saw...damn. That would have been the ticket. Ill have to try my orbital for cleanup.

A circular saw with a plywood blade run the correct direction would give you a much faster, straight and clean cut.

what i do is take 2 pieces of angle or two flat stock with a straight edge and clamp them together on both sides of the sheet.then take my cut off wheel on a grinder and score both sides and then just snap it off.this takes no time at all to do and you dont burn up disc or blades and its simple.then i take a 4" tiger disc,it's a disc made by weiler and i love them they are the sand paper like flap disc and just run down the edge and it rounds it off so no sharp edges.chad. :mrgreen:

i use a 40 tooth carbide blade my skill saw cuts very easy and have cut all the alm. for 2 buggys and still useing the same blade. works good on a table saw to.

Like you & Ody a a skill saw is fast .Put the blade all the way down and go .
