...has brought us to this point. It's still not done (as it never will be), but it is driveable now!

Many things have yet to be done (painting the wheels and putting new front tires on are the most obvious), so don't scrutinize it TOO much!

- 3.4L V6 out of a 1995 Camaro (wiring harness modified by me)
- 38.5" Ground Hawg tires on the rear
- Berrien Warrior frame (just slightly modified)
- Dean's 3x5 trailing arms

You all can probably figure out the rest.

I'd like to thank my building partner, Michael (mizzledizzle), and also some guys on here: Larry (kybuggy1), Tony (crazybone), Firebug (I'll probably remember your name as soon as I submit this), and Earlytimes(?) - my homeboy that I sold my 3-rib to (Damnit, I don't remember your real name right now, but you know who you are!) I'm sorry if I forgot anyone, but my memory can suck at given points in time!

Ah! The pictures decieve you! It already is dirty now, even though it's not running right! Those pictures are a week or so old, haha.
And that thing over top of the steering wheel is the tach, but it's laying down in the pictures because the bolt was still loose.

Next step is to make it street legal.
OH, and it's not a wheelie machine like I was afraid of! It just digs holes in the ground instead, hah.

Pics work fine on my home computer, not on ones at work.

That looks awesome Pat! Very clean and uncluttered, especially to have a waterpumper on it! :P

Bet it will fly with those tall tires on it! Get them tags and drive it over, we'll go ponycar huntin! Plenty of Joe Dirt wannabe's to pick on out here in the Southend :lol:

Or put some of Koko's diggers on it and we'll see if it wont ride a wheelie! :wink:

Thanks man! I know that's a lot to say from an A/C man, lol.
I can't wait to get it street legal, that's my next step. I'm a little worried about the legalities of having an e-brake though. I would have to buy new calipers and set up a handle, etc.

I'm sure it'll pull some wheelies when it has good traction, but I'm happy that so far it's not easy. Drivability was a major concern for me.

I'm still trying to work out some engine problems though. And it figures that it's mainly a problem with the cooling system, haha. :x

I can't wait to see how it does on the road or somewhere more open than my yard though. 8)

I wonder if a ball valve in the brake lines will pass for e-brake? Or you can use a drag car line lock, or Jamar makes a pushbutton valve. I think it will if you got dual m/c's or front brakes on a seperate system. Depends a lot on which sherriff does the inspection , too. The old one out here at Dixie license branch doesnt give a crap about nothin but lights and vin usually, especially if you bring a five, so he dont have to go inside and get change for a ten :roll: :D .

Whats the cooling system problem? I know those 4th generation Camaros are famous for airlocks, especially LT1 Z's, but it shouldnt be a problem with your radiator fillcap so much higher than the rest of the sytem. Head gasket, maybe?

Yeah, I'm really hoping a line lock of some sort will be enough to do the trick. I'm planning on getting a custom built title though, so who knows.

I already replaced the headgaskets (it was blowing water out the exhaust, and that fixed it), and I've replaced the LIM gasket twice. I'm having issues with the coolant getting into the oil now, and vise versa. Also, it's blowing a lot of smoke out one of the pipes, but only intermittently when it's hot. It's driving me nuts. I wish I had the money right now just to buy another one, but I have to make this one work for now. :?

Looks like it was worth the wait. It is worth the time to fab an ebrake. To get by inspection just stick in a E brake handle. If you are gettting hot us a cooling system eveacuator to remove all the air pockets.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing the e-brake thing. Just making a stand for it to sit in there above the shift rod, lol.

I need to post the pictures of my mid-shift setup. I made it from scratch and it only set me back around 30 bucks, as opposed to the $250 kit that everyone ends up making major modifications to in order to make it better. :shock:

Bump this to the top because I started working on it again!

I just bought an engine that doesn't eat oil and coolant, and I'm going to rebuild the cutting brakes, as I believe the right handle was the source of my brake problems. I also need to get another 944 CV (I found a pair for $60 shipped, anyone else have a better deal?).

Next step is to finish up making it street legal! I have the headlights and blinkers mounted. I need to go to the junkyard and pick up an E-brake handle to temporarily mount, and a rearview mirror. Then I need to get a windshield made (Larry, do you know of a glass place in Louisville that will cut out a windshield for me?), and mount a wiper. I'll be getting the horn working today hopefully.

I'm so excited to actually have a decent engine for this thing. It just didn't seem to have the power it should have before, so we'll see how it goes. Wish me luck!

I'll put a couple more pictures up with the lights mounted when I get a chance.

Call Roy's Auto Glass. Thats who does all our glass work at Byerly and my shop at home. 585-5801. Ask for Donnie, tell 'em I sent ya. They are related to me by marriage, but hopefully they wont hold that against ya. :mrgreen:
Donnie just told me on the phone he can do it from a cardboard pattern, or measurements, or right from the buggy.
A buddy of mine mounted his by welding 3/4" x 1/16" flat bar all the way around the inside perimeter of his w/shield opening, then you can just mount the glass in a rubber seal and rope it in, just like you do in a beetle. Roy's also sells the seal to mount it with if you are gonna mount it that way.

Awesome! Thank you! I was going to use Lexan, but apparently getting a piece of glass cut isn't much more expensive (then you don't have to worry about scratches and inspection, etc.). Also, I want to make it removable somehow. Any Ideas on that? Maybe using the rubber gasket that you can get from Berrien and other places? I'm not sure how well that works.

My windshield had the gasket. No way it will stay in and just be removable. Debated using removable flat stock to hold it in with bolts.
