Well we are rebuilding the cobra for Roy. He rolled the yellow one pretty good at cold spot 3 roller haha. Didn't really mess anything up but a shock but its time for a upgrade. He bought my old cobra frame off me and basically all the parts that go with it. We still had to build a new back half to the cage which we got done and it turned out really killer. We did some of our own ideas and some borrowed. It will have a full flat skid plate tranny back. Anyways heres the before and after pictures. Should be done this week some time fully together.

We use the pro 104 bender or something. Its not ours that would be Greg's (mudd mutt). Its one of the high dollar fancy hydro setups but works excellent. Yes Brett I tore it all up last year, it was brand new about 10 months ago haha.

Thanks guys for the comments we worked our asses off on it actually haha.

The other Cobra frame is going together all at the same time, thats our buddy Brians. We stuck a X brace in there and got to get it all setup for him. He going to run a 2180, 3rib, 31 tractors. Mike if you are looking for one there might be one coming up for sale here that I know about. We have like 5-6 Cobras rolling around here hahaha.

We got the skid plate all done, all the way from the front of the frame horns to the back. Also got top trans mounts done, arms on, limit straps in place, 930's set to 26 degrees, and shock mounts. We ran out of the tubing for the shock mounts so got to finish that later. Got the yellow beast all stripped down to bare frame and finished all the underneath welding on the new tubing. More to come.....

Yes sir they are...5in backspace...with no tubes and 3-4 psi...but they are not cut really to the core yet either so still stiff a bit.

what is the madness behind moving the motor and trans back 3 inches ??? will this or will it not make it lighter in the front ??? isnt that a bad thing when u got a bigg motor and r tring to climb hills ??? also what about ur approach angles ( tail draging more on steep inclines )

its actually 1.5 inches, no when you run extended trailing arms you move the trans and motor back to put more weight on the rear tires. its balanced out that way. the buggy is meant to lift the front 4-5 inches and climb the hill transferring all the weight to the rear tires.

the stock frame accepts the move back 1.5 inches so your angles are exactly the same.

In the pictures I see what you are saying it looks like 3 inches, we actually cut off about 2 inches of the frame horns, enough to cut all the thread out. then we just slid 1 1/2 tubing inside the horns. the actual trans only sits back 1.5 inches from end of stock frame horns to clarify.

Got it all done. Started and ran last night. It was about to go on its maiden voyage until we shoved the clutch and realized that little bushing in the clutch fork really is an important needed item. So we gotta pull the dang motor and fix that tonight and try again.
