Well ya'll know that I just got the new single seater frame. It just got delivered this morning to me by a beautiful lady from KY, Thx Tam and Willie!! Willie went out of his way to find out all the info for me on this frame and insure it was a good one. I sent the money sight unseen and Tam dropped it off to me in Columbus today. One hell of a guy right there I owe ya a choke Ok, now that all the sissy crap is over move onto the buggy. Its a 98 Inch complete flat bottom buggy made by Predator. Frame is in awesome shape no surface rust even this time woohoo! I got the frame back today and just so you don't think I am being lazy I DID get my seat completely mounted and started fitting the 6rib in there. All the tabs and mounts are just tacked on (THANKS DUSTIN!!) because I had to change about everyone of them to get stuff where I wanted it. Tomorrow I am mounting cutters, pedals, shifter, and if there's time before the superbowl I would like to get the frontend put together and stick a set of arms on it so we can roll it around. Mainly I am doing nothing but putting it together. The main work is coming on the motor. I am going to dry sump it finally (thanks Kidd1 for the CB pump), put my 5.6 rods in, go 10.5-11 compression, balance it, new bearings, rings, and going to put one of those trick serpentine belt systems from Gary on it. I want to have the buggy done here in a couple weeks I think I am going to powdercoat this one. Motor will be a while longer, MAYBE make the easter climb not really sure. Anyways I have no pictures, well I do but you have seen them. I will get some up here when there is something good to look at. Day 1 |

muddmutt you have to work to take a vacation maybe the guy from predator that built this frame could chime in here to. i am having some issues mounting the tranny. Dustin says it is setup for a 6 rib for sure, we tried a 6 rib with a 6rib nosecose and a 6rib bellhousing, the back mounts hits before the front is all the way in, with the 3rib bellhousing the front goes in but the bellhousing is about 3/8 inch away from the mounts in the rear. With the 3rib nose cone on we get pretty much the same results, we have stuffed this tranny in and out of this frame 30 times already and its getting heavy haha anyone with any ideas here. Kyle |

Well day 4 here. Single seaters take A LOT more planning that 2 seaters. You have to stuff everything in. Got a bunch done and will have lots more by the weekend. At the bottom are the pictures of my tranny issues,(3rib bellhousing is on in pics.)(6rib bellhousing hits the back mounts first and is 1/2 away from the front mount) Thanks Chad for the shifter pics. fortydegnorth wrote: Just whack the rear mount with a BFH! You dont even have to do that. Mine was similiar to that. If you have top bellhousing mounts it will be fine. Just vertically oblong the hole in the bottom mounts a little and when you tighten the nuts on the engine studs it will pull the mount most of the way , if not all the way, flush to the tranny. Only 3/16" or 1/4" steel right? I've had no problems from doing that. Larry |

Hey Larry yes I have top mounts but they are also not hitting. I think I am going to chop the bottom mounts because they are so easy then leave the top mounts and put spacers in them. Just didn't want both mounts top and bottom to have spacers. Shouldn't take anytime to move the bottom ones back 1/4 inch. Got the cutters mounted in last night. Took A LOT of work to get them in. I had to shorten my handles about 2.5 inches just to get them in a better location to mount. Then took a piece of 14 gauge flat and welded angle brackets to the top for the cutters, then figured out the tube angle and got em all mounted up, few hour job haha. Getting the floor, roof, and steering done tonight. Kyle ![]()

If its only a 1/4" why not pre drill and weld a piece of flat stock on the existing mount? |
