Would it be ok to run bolts straight through my frame?

Drilling holes and bolting something to it would weaken the frame in those spots. I personally don't recommend it because of weakening the frame and that would let water in and rust from the inside out. Ask some of your friend or maybe someone from the site to help you weld tabs in. I would be glad to help you but your probably too far away from me.

Take advantage of the opportunity. Make gussets, braces and other things that you want welded so it can all get done tomorrow. Oh, and do a quick check on all the welds so if any need fixed that can be done too. Good luck and keep us posted.

Here is a good place to get just about any tab or bracket you need at very reasonable prices. Why make them when you can buy them cheap. aa-mfg.com
