Yeah I was waiting for the right time for my first. Race bug and I go way back. We race together and he usally lets me lose. Trust me he knows it is in good fun. |

Well, well, well. It seems this location can no longer be trusted...  We got the steering all figured out this weekend. Ended up with about no bump steer! I'll post some pics later.

   Thats 20 inches travel with a 26" front tire. Thats enough for 1500lbs car

Yeah they will let anyone join. Well race bug as always you have set the bar. My number one crew cheif is talking new car A arm for 2010. We are making some changes and mods for this year and will give it heck. By the way that car looks great I hope too see it out in 09. |

I bet this will be the car to beat next year! Welcome to woodsbuggy wyoming! I guess your buggy is kind of a woods buggy, it spends just as much time in the woods (trees) as it does the track! Racebug, you know how to make a guy feel welcome. I do still have a woods buggy in its day it was the bomb it is in my shop in KY. Jd broke the ring gear about ten years ago and there it sits. The motor out of it was the second one we blew up at liberty this year. We just sent the crank out and should be ready for our back up this year. |

A little more progress. I got my hand on a Bridgeport for an hour or so...  we finished mounting the a-arms  started screwing around with shock mounts

shock towers are mounted! By the time the front end has limit straps, and bump stops added, it should have 20" of front wheel travel.    this is how I'm gonna gusset the a-arm pivots. Time Consuming!!

Looks great! I know they are a little pricey but for the type work with the gussetts and custom fab you are doing invest in a plasma cutter. It took me 10 years to pull the trigger and honestly I can't remember how I got anything done without it. I replaced the chop saw with a band saw and the sawzall with a porta-band and they all helped but the plasma is point and shoot easy. Keep up the progress pics I love this build. |

Good eye, mudd mutt! Its a 625, but it does everything I need it to do. Thanks firebug, it isn't from any plans, just alot of research, and really the car kind of builds itself... I'll know what I want, and its like stuff falls into place

racebug how about an update on some pic's It is looking good. We are thinking about two wsorr races in 09 possiblly Crandon and Bark river we will have to build a 1915 though. |

I'm still thinking a Best in The Desert or an MDR race. I don't want to build another motor!  We did get the rear trailing arms on it this weekend. I'll get some pics tonight or tomarrow

Well, its about done. Just throw some tires on and race!  No, but we mounted the rear trailing arms last weekend, and then the rear shocks this weekend. We got another great deal from drews on these shocks, 2.5"x14"Sway-a-way triple bypasses  ride height (Kevin trying to rip the arm off)  all drooped out  from the back  micro stubs  We used the same trailing arms I made for my race car( I made 2 sets last year). they are 25" straight pivot arms. We are getting 20 inches of travel in the back. |
