That car looks bad ass.

I was wondering what the red bar was in the pictures before the complete build. How does it work being connected to both arms? Is a sway bar common in race buggys? Would it help any in a play buggy or hill climber?

I kinda started screwin around with sway bars acouple years ago, when I started racing. It would hurt a woods car IMO. I would disconect mine when I went woods riding. It made for a really rough ride. Ever since I made mine, I see more and more buggies with sway bars.

Sway bars are OK for semi smooth terrain however they would suck in the terrain we ride in.

The sway bars would be ideal for the arena racing we do in off season,,,since they can be disconnected for woods..ingenious

Kevin has been screwin around with springs, and is getting really close. We hope to test the car out this weekend and race it next weekend!

We did it!! We did some test and tune on saterday at a new race track in hamilton ohio (we will be racing there this weekend 13th and 14th). The car was outstanding. For a first run, you couldn't ask for anything better! Heres some pics and videos.

we had our first race the past weekend, and Kevin (in the a-arm car) did great! If I remember correctly he finished 4th in the first heat, 5th in the second heat and first in the third heat out of 12 buggies, earning a 3rd over-all. Not too bad for a brand new car! I'll post some videos later. I finished first in the first two heats, but I couldn't catch him in the third, so I ended up with a second  . The only non-race abuse problem the car had was for some reason the left rear lug nuts would loosen up every heat. I think it was the second heat, another car PLOWED into the side of him crushing the tree bar and bending a couple rear shock mounts.

Awsome job on the car. It would appear that there is not enough rebound or too much compression in the rear shocks. Could be the driver is adjusting also.
