Nice job on the rebuild! How are you doing the rear rotors? Did you cut the center out of the rotor? And Studs are going to hold the hub&rotor together? Just curious, I'm wanting to do something Like that. The splines in my rotor's are wore already.

Those are VW drums cut down to fit inside Porsche 914 rotors, I will be putting thread in studs in them. It's a much stronger setup than the China made one piece rotors

I was able to cut the center of the drums out with a porta band so the would fit in my small lathe to finish cutting to fit. You can find those rotors made by Zimmerman still Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav= ... 96&alt=web

Beautiful rise from the ashes. I need to redo my cage like yours. Helmet constantly hits it.

Those old German VW drums were very strong. More like a forging. Nice to see your giving yourself plenty of head room. I need to do that to my rail. If you want E brakes use Audi A4 or Passat rear brake calipers. They are cable operated and the cable is on top so it won't get snagged. I would use press in studs. Sway Away makes longer 14 mm ones.
