I am building a 2 seat buggy. I have plenty of pictures but apparently they are too large. maybe I can figure out how to make them smaller this weekend and get them posted . I made the bender from pro tools plans and made half of the die as well ( much to my buddies dismay i broke down and purchased the bottom follower die). . I am using a borrowed frame jig and i purchased a Fabricated torsion from tony ( he does outstanding work )

so I am planning on a 6rib and saturn power so we will see how it goes

I tore down the parts torsion today (trailing arms, axles ect ) Still fitting the main rollbar (headbar maybe) the one with the compound bends. After that one gets welded in things will go much faster as almost everything else welds out from there.

I scored some dirt track tires for the rear I am now looking for stock car wheels for the rear

I found another descrepency or oh sh-- moment today. The rubber bushings that fit a stock torsion do not fit the fabricated ones.

on a brighter note the headbar was tacked in place today. bending the rear bar is next.

A milestone was achieved today. The chassis is coming off the jig. The biggest challenge of the day was finding the missing push broom. I am going to assume that it will show up tomorrow.

the frame jig was borrowed from a friend, this jig was made using an existing frame. it is really funny it has a setting for a 4 seat frame and the torsion is only like 10 inches further away from the front axle.

Thank you

Today the frame came off the jig. (it was returned today as MY shop is full inside and it is in town so no outside storage) I started welding on the bottom side. I will bend the rest of the hoops soon and it will look more like a buggy. For some reason I have been having trouble getting the 1" tubing for the bracing (no stock)

Monday,
not a lot accomplished this evening. after checking around it seem that the answer to the plastic that fits inside the fabricated torsion housings are made of un-obtanium and in order to fit, the aftermarket bushings would have to be turned down on a lathe. it just so happen I have one of those apparatuses. So after turning a device to turn the plastic with. they were fitted to the torsion.

I bent the double headbar last night and tacked in a couple of the spreader bars. Hopefully tonight I can get the second headbar fitted and tacked in place.

Hiding from the weather and shopping for thanksgiving dinner ingredients is on the agenda for today
