Hey, guys. I have a 98 Grand Prix that's been sitting for almost a year now. Needs a new head, warped near cylinder 4. But I was thinking about scrapping it soon because its doing me no good, so here's my question probably a little ridiculous. But could a 3.8 fit in a Rail buggy?? Reliably, and could it mate with the 6 rib I currently have or would I have to use the grand prixs trans? Idk could be a dumb idea I just love how this engine sounds and pulls. Thanks,
-joe.

NO! I had one and it will rare up on you so easy and you'll have to let off the gas when you really really need it. It will have so much torque that you will easily put it in 2nd. You will end up busting side shifts once a year. The gears are fine, the case will flex and the ring and pinion will move away from each other and strip each other. Driving with the extra 200 lbs + counter weight in the front is like driving my pick up truck over loaded with fire wood. Baby chains solved every thing but unless you can fab, leave this one alone. Don't even run it like the Passat buggy either. Too fat and heavy.

Exactly the answer I was looking for, someone whos had the experience. Maybe I'll just look into a ecotec or Subaru motor. Thanks!
