Start by saying if i had 15k+ i would just buy a 4 seater side by side and trick it out wail i build a rear engine subarugears.com buggy i dont have that kind of money mater of fact i could build 2 buggys for the cost of subaru gears so i will post my progress.

Love the idea... I have been looking at Subaru Gears for a while. I think a 4 wheel drive dune buggy would be unstoppable.

At one time, many, many years ago I had the insane idea of a 4WD rail that ran 2 Identical VW engines with bus trannies, one up front & the other in the rear. Trying to shift both trannies at the same time was my stumbling block in my mind.

Years ago there was a guy in Nashville who built a buggy of such called, "The Centipede"....It had 2 ac vw engines and transaxle's. It also swiveled in the middle. He was always at LBL.

I seen that buggy . I think he was a engineering student and that was one of his projects
