Well it only took four days for mine to travel to PA. Here is a few shots, at this point I have a stock 6 rib with a Kennedy stage 1 PP and a 6 puck disk, all wiring is pulled out of the buggy.
Parts so far that I have:
Mid 80's Honda Civic racing 3 row radiator and fan
S2000 fuel pump,
2 sets 2.5" jbends with super trap insert,
Fuel reg and gauge,
Summit water temp,volts an oil psi gauges,
Vdo rpm,
Hydro pedals,
Starter adapter to run a tdi starter (higher torque)
Need to still get the starter and alternator.

If you look close at the picture when its in the back of the truck,I got the bonus free firewood. Not only do I get straps to hold the beer cooler down I get free heat, Its a win win 8)

One option on the oil pan is to dry sump the engine.

I like that option, keeps the motor low and level. Keeps the trans oil where it was designed to be and less oil puking out the front trans vent. Definitely the way to go if money wasn't a factor.

I had my old set up, set up for 10*, I redid the trans front mount to be level, I plan on venting the trans with a vent tube.
My oil pan hits my old skid plat to, I am going to redo mine or just add spacers with a tougher skid plate.

I had a few questions concerning the wiring to which Shaun from Alpha Fab cleared up, But these questions might help some others thinking of doing the same build.
Maybe Shaun will chime in on these :lol: .

1-I noticed a Knock sensor plug but not sure where that goes, I had a friend tell me that there is no connection on the block, that I could cut the plug off and just attach the wires to the block anywhere?
Do I need to buy this for a 2007 HHR 2.4?

2-I bought a set of Summit WTR temp, Oil psi and Volt gauges, my question is two fold,
Where is a good place to put the Painless thermostat and the Summit gauge sensor? I was thinking of drilling out this boss (pict) and put one in there or can I modify the coolant piping somehow to accept that and the gauge sensor. Any ideas would be helpfull?

3-Under the intake toward the trans/back of engine there is the crank sensor and the oil Psi sensor,
For the Oil sensor that came with the gauge pod I can screw out the factory one and put in the Summit one?

Thanks for all ur input, I will be posting more picts around lunch time, my Ipad lets me put the picts on without resizing them.

On both my w/c's where the hot water comes out of the motor and at it's highest point, I spliced in a metal pipe with "high speed cutter" rings ground around it, so the 2 hoses won't slip off with the clamps around it. OK, but I also welded in a nut (preferably a threaded rod coupler) with a bolt in it for a steam bleed off port. Trapped steam will build and push your water out of your reservoir bottle and you won't even know it. If you have a slow leaking hose, overnite, your cylinder head will vacate. The next time you ride you have steam and there goes more water out on the ground while you are waving at the crowd unaware. Water pumps cannot pump steam. I don't always over heat a motor, but when I do, I make a burp port at the highest point. Welding in a temp sender on this same pipe would read well. Mounting your reservoir as high as possible will help fill in these steam pockets. Wire 2 fans on separate circuits with no fancy relays or fuses to go bad and burn up a motor. I have 1 fan that has to be on if the motor is cranked and another manually controlled.Dave out.

So basicly it's a 1.5" pipe with a bleed port, and a temp sensor port, weled in the middle of the pipe. Use a large nut for the sensor to screw into aswell and use Teflon tape. I rely on what I make, than what these clowns try to sell us.

Nicer new down supports with new cross bar and tabs for trans support. I am going to use the factory motor mount on the rear and bolt to that.

Mo picts,
Thinking of putting the radiator like it sits just lower with some scoops to pull in more air. I am also going to build a fan shroud to pull the air instead of mounting it directly to the radiator.

Hi Jim,

You didn't have a knock sensor on the engine? You should have - I'll send one out Monday...

That's a good spot, or in the radiator itself, or tap in the coolant hard lines...

You'll need my oil pressure adapter for the block to 1/8 NPT... They come in my oil pressure relocation kit, but I think they are $20 or so by themselves.

Where should I put my radiator? I wanted to put it behind the seats in the middle but my buddy who is a mechanic said it won't get any air, I said that what the fan is for, he didn't like that.. So I am turning to you guys to see what ur thoughts are, he suggested off to the right (see pict) kind of set at an angle. I don't want it up high cuz I can't see behind me. Here are the three option I came up with. Fixed pictures...

I don't know why but on my device those pic are so small I can't see 'em. Just for the record I didn't like mine high in the middle either. That's why it's taking me so long to put it in the rear. Might add some scoops if the fan isn't enough.

Pics work now <thumbs up> of those three it seems to me that the last one would get the most amount of air? From what I hear these things are easy to cool so you should be good. In that second pic (front and center) I would be worried about radiant heat even with the fan on you would always be feeling it. Not sure how well the seats would hold up over time like that too? Just my thoughts. Maybe some others will chime in...
