The Ford hung farther off back after being bolted to the trans, so the frame is going to need a little TLC to massage that LE5 in there. The Ecotec sitting more forward is a big plus tho, it will allows room to move the radiator behind the motor instead of blocking my rear vision since I plan on using this on the street a lot.

Be sure to take careful notes; might have to do another swap in the no so distant future ;)

More room is needed to mount the radiator where I want it. Would also probably be a good idea to build a new rear motor cage to better fit radiator and fan.

Motor now fits great with room to spare. Next on the list is chopping up all the existing mounts, sliding motor/trans as far forward as the frame horns will allow.

Finished fabricating the front trans mount using the same methods as the rear mount. 1/4" plate was overkill here but I already had it laying around. The two tabs on top are for the rear seat belts. Welding this sucker in there is going to be tight and tricky

Got the front trans mount welded in there and motor/trans mounted and finally hanging on its own. Gave the motor lift a long overdue break. LOL Motor sits exactly how I want it now - on the same plane as the bars - about 3°. Dropping from 10° to 3° also relieved some of the axle angle. Underneath the pan is still higher then the trans. Couldnt be happier.

Attachments:
File comment: Engine sits nice and even with bars at 3° - with old mounts it was 10° and kicked way up in the air.

Oh and I picked up a 6 rib straight out of a bus from Randy - who was an awesome dude to chat with. Im blessed to have great friends like tommil77 to introduce me to his circle of buggy dudes. So ImmortalSoul219, that little 3-ribs life has been spared.

This means I need to sell my 3-rib soon which has at the very least 930 flanges (I don't believe those flanges are interchangeable with a 6 rib, is that correct???). It might have more done to it internally - but I don't know an easy way to check this without opening it up. If you do, please help me out. The 3 rib came with the buggy when I bought it and it was bolted to what I think was a non-running Ford 2.0 Lima engine.

File comment: Proud 6-rib owner now. Should be much better gearing for the 170+ hp.
